What is W.E.A.S.T.?

W.E.A.S.T. is a vison in the midst of becoming reality. Fundamentally, it is a partial solution to the worsening problem of inequity in the music ecosystem. W.E.A.S.T. stands for Wits End Artist Support Team.

Making a career as a musician is increasingly difficult. The rapidly shifting landscape of the past decade has musicians struggling to adapt. There are more and more 'hands-in-pockets' in the industry: booking agents, tour managers, road managers publicists, social media influencers, artistic managers, grant writers, and a bevy of other hands, all of whom get paid before the musician and fewer and fewer revenue sources.

With that in mind, a concept was born: a cooperative of keen and capable retired persons willing to provide administrative and/or technical support to musicians, tailored to their needs - all pro bono - all for the love of live, local music!

BRENT PARKIN:

Brent is a legendary Blues/Folk guitar player possessed of an amazing pedigree and a silky voice. He is well known for his smooth delivery. Brent performs solo, 3-piece, or 4-piece.

SCOTT NOLAN:

Scott is a Folk/Roots singer-songwriter-multi-instrumentalist-poet-producer highly regarded for his evocative lyrics and poignant melodies. Scott performs solo, duo, or full band.

book, advance, and publicize shows, festivals, and tours;
post events to his website, Songkick, Bands in Town, and social media presences;
manage and update his Electronic Press Kit;
assist in the release and publicity of new music.

THE SMALL GLORIES:

The Small Glories are a highly sought after Folk duo consisting of Cara Luft on banjo and guitar and JD Edwards on guitar and harmonica. They are renowned for the intertwining of their soaring voices and energetic performances.

WEAST works with The Small Glories to:

advance shows, festivals, and tours (WEAST does NOT book The Small Glories);
post events to their website, Songkick, Bands in Town, and Facebook.

NOLAN + NOLAN:

An occasional project, Joe Nolan and Scott Nolan collaborate for a largely impromptu song-swap show 'workshop style' where each is incredibly present in order to deftly support each others songs.
